WHAT'S NEW:

Charlie custom dog portrait for Bonnie Hunt

The Bonnie Hunt Show's pet portrait winner!

My Goal
In additional to capturing your pet's likeness on canvas, my goal as your artist is to create a custom piece of original artwork 1.) that truly expresses who your pet is and 2.) that you'll be thrilled to hang in your home for years to come. And after a decade of being entrusted to do this work, I'm pleased to say that I have a 100% happy client track record.

Photos
While I like to see as many photos of your pet as possible, I work from one primary photo to create your portrait. And here's the bottom line on photos: the higher quality they are--the more clear, well-lit and detailed--the stronger your portrait will be. So the best place to start the portrait process is with quick a photo review to make sure I can do my best work from what you have.

Because good photos are so key, I highly suggest having a photo session with your pet specifically for his or her portrait, if at all possible.** I'm happy to schedule a home visit, to photograph your pet and meet you both in person (please email or call me directly for more info on scheduling a home visit) or if you'd like snap a few pictures yourself, I've compiled a list of portrait photo tips that can help guide you towards that great, portrait-worthy shot. Please click here to request a copy of the tips via email.

Already have some favorite photos in mind for your portrait?. Wonderful--Email me your digital photos (up to 10MB attachments per email), or send me hard copies/prints via regular mail. I'll take a good look and get back to you within a few days with a reponse.

Commission agreement & turnaround time
Once we nail down photos and decide upon a canvas size, I'll send you a commission agreement via email. It will state what is being painted for you, the turnaround time and payment terms. A signed copy of this agreement and a 50% deposit holds your spot on the current waiting list (which is about six months long as of May, 2010).

Portrait fees
The price of your portrait is generally determined by the size of the canvas, how much of your pet you'd like depicted (full body vs. face) and the clarity of your photos. To request a detailed price list via email, please click here.

Have some questions? Like to start a conversation about your own portrait? Just send me an email or give me a call.

**I work with many clients who only have a few older photos and whose pets have unforunately passed. If this is the case, please know I will do my best to work with what you already have.
